GLOSSARY
Revenue Management System (RMS)
Tool that optimizes pricing and availability using demand, compset, and inventory data.
An RMS recommends prices and restrictions based on demand forecasts, competitor data, and inventory. It maximizes revenue while protecting occupancy and margins.
RMS products like our RMS platform feed rates to PMS and CM, and consume data from POS, CMS, and ERP for richer signals. They manage rate plans, restrictions (LOS, CTA/CTD), and pricing rules per segment or channel.
Advanced RMS tools simulate scenarios, factor seasonality and events, and expose controls for revenue managers to override recommendations. Good RMS outputs translate into improved RevPAR/ADR, fewer parity issues, and more accurate forecasts.
